Privacy Policy
Last updated: 26 June 2026
Crystal Solar Solutions (“Crystal Solar”, “we”, “us”, or “our”), based in Kollam, Kerala, respects your privacy. This policy explains what personal data we collect when you request a quote, use our solar calculator, sign up, or engage us for a rooftop-solar installation, why we collect it, how we use and protect it, and the rights you have under India's Digital Personal Data Protection (DPDP) Act, 2023.
1. Who we are
Crystal Solar Solutions is a rooftop-solar installer operating in and around Kollam, Kerala. We act as the “Data Fiduciary” for the personal data described in this policy. You can reach us using the contact details in the “Contact & data requests” section below.
2. Data we collect
Depending on how you interact with us, we may collect:
- Identity & contact data — your name, phone number, email address and postal/site address.
- Property & energy data — roof type and area, KSEB consumer number, sanctioned load, monthly electricity bills/units and appliance usage you enter into our calculator.
- KYC & subsidy documents — identity proof, address proof, bank details and electricity bills required to process PM Surya Ghar subsidy claims, KSEB net-metering applications and financing.
- Transaction data — proposals, quotations, invoices, payments and project records.
- Technical data — basic device, log and analytics information when you use our website.
3. Why we collect it (purpose)
- To prepare solar system designs, quotations and proposals you request.
- To carry out site surveys, installation, commissioning and after-sales service (including your 5-year free AMC).
- To file KSEB net-metering applications and PM Surya Ghar subsidy claims on your behalf.
- To arrange financing, raise invoices and record payments.
- To contact you about your enquiry, project status and service appointments.
- To meet legal, tax and regulatory obligations.
4. Consent
We process your personal data on the basis of the consent you give when you submit an enquiry, accept a proposal or engage our services, and where processing is necessary to provide the services you have asked for or to comply with law. Your consent is free, specific, informed and limited to the purposes above. You may withdraw consent at any time (see “Your rights”); withdrawal does not affect processing already carried out and may mean we can no longer provide certain services.
5. Sharing your data
We share personal data only as needed to deliver our services, with:
- Government and utility portals — the PM Surya Ghar national portal, KSEB and the relevant DISCOM.
- Financing partners and payment providers, where you opt for financing.
- Trusted service providers (e.g. cloud hosting, communication and analytics) under appropriate safeguards.
We do not sell your personal data.
6. Data retention
We keep your personal data only for as long as necessary for the purposes above and to meet legal, warranty and tax requirements. Subsidy, net-metering, warranty and AMC records are retained for the duration of the relevant obligation (and any statutory period thereafter). When data is no longer required, we securely delete or anonymise it.
7. Data security
We apply reasonable technical and organisational measures — access controls, encrypted transmission and restricted internal access — to protect your data against unauthorised access, loss or misuse. No system is completely secure, but we work to safeguard the information you entrust to us.
8. Your rights
Subject to the DPDP Act, 2023, you have the right to:
- Access a summary of the personal data we hold about you and how it is processed.
